Violet Windflower

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This colossal flower grows up to 13.3 feet (4.0 meters) tall. Its drab green stem is very thin and splits into 5 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the tiny, emerald leaves are fan-like with serrated edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

5 to 9 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 47 cm (18.5 inches) wide, with solid green petals decorated with black dots and a violet central disk. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a weak scent that smells like warm milk, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind and is ignored by most insect species.

It comes in 6 varieties, each with a different petal colour.
