Midnight Bluevine

This average-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 46 feet (14.0 meters) and growing as high as 145 feet (44.2 meters).

It takes 5 years for the brown stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and woody.

The long, narrow, sticky leaves reach up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) in length. They are solid black or blue, with beige splotches, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces lots of colossal beige flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces a few tiny seed pods.
