Twisting Pine

This colossal tree grows up to 144 meters (472.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 236 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in fine, silky, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of sticky, giant, stiff, pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are cyan on the sides and silver at the center.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of large, dark brown blossoms with oblong shaped petals. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like cheese.

In late summer it forms giant, crimson, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
