Ocean Breeze

This big leaf succulent grows up to 81 feet (24.7 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is brown, and is covered in thick sheets of fine, black, hair-like spines. The serrated-edged, asymmetrical leaves are found in green, pastel yellow and beige varieties. Very large amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are light, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are generally brown; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grows at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has a strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the grey flesh is smooth, and the blue sap is thin.
