Blood Red Spiralvine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This big flower grows up to 4.3 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its moss green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 5 and are thin and straight, and split into many branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the giant, green leaves are dark blood red on the underside and are pleated with ripped edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 5 to 7 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with petals that are dark brown on the underside and yellow on the top. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. They detach easily.
