Azureberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This big fruit tree grows up to 21 feet (6.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 24 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, crooked trunk covered in thin, cracked, gray bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are very short and thick and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, finger-like leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are green and azure.

In early spring, it produces several small, beige blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like a woman.

In late summer it produces small, finger-like fruit. The smooth peach skin is tough and bitter, and the crunchy purple flesh is bitter and spicy and sticky. The white seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
