Emerald

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This massive leaf succulent grows up to 145 feet (44.2 meters) tall. The tapering stem is emerald, and is covered in brittle slate spines. The lumpy leaves are black and slate. Very large amounts of them grow on wide, gray or crimson branches that are long and thin. The leaves are durable, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with amber petals on the lower layer and aquamarine petals decorated with bright yellow dots on the inner layer. The central disk is blue, grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is shaped like a heart with 49 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like blood.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the crimson flesh is slimy, and the black sap is thin.

The leaves are extremely toxic, and very savoury.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
It is bio-luminescent.
