Moss Green Twining Flower

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its brown stem is thick, and the tiny, moss green leaves are 5 pointed with tattered edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Each stem splits 6 to 11 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with hazel petals and a grey central disk. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. They are very delicate.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like perfume, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
