Spiny Grey

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 34 feet (10.4 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is gray, and is covered in many flexible beige spines. The bulbous, grey trunk can grow to as much as 34 feet (10.4 meters) in diameter. Its orange-yellow branches trail down towards the ground.

The smooth-edged, spear shaped leaves are found in olive and azure varieties. They are durable, and do not detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are gentle yellow at the sides and vibrant purple at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals in raised layers. It has a soft scent that smells like roses.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the cream flesh is slimy, and the violet sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
