Turquoise Petal

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its white or turquoise stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the giant, moss green leaves are slender, pointed with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

2 to 6 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 13 cm (5.1 inches) wide, with solid caramel petals and a purple central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 37 petals. They are very delicate.

It has no scent, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
