Emerald Petal
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This small flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its vivid green and emerald stems grow in bunches of 5 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the large, gray leaves are very thin with tattered edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
5 to 7 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with olive petals on the lower layer and beige petals decorated with olive dots on the inner layer. The central disk is bold green. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.
It has a strong scent that smells like fruity, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
