Golden Spike Cactus

This small cactus grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 5 slender, pointed stems. Each stem is green, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible gold spines.

It is slow growing, taking 45 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid indigo petals decorated with purple lines and a violet central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 10 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 36 petals. It has no scent.

The cactus's skin is thin, the light brown flesh is soft, and the azure sap is thin.
