Lilac Tree

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 200 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white.

The small handful of branches are short and thick and are covered with large amounts of sticky, large, needle-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are turquoise on the edges and lilac at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, intense red blossoms with 2 pointed petals. They fall easily and have the faintest scent that smells like vanilla.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, brown, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
