Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 30 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has many long and flexible, twisting stems covered in delicate, rough, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.
The branches are very short and slender with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of miniature, wide, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are olive and orange, durable and sticky.
In late spring it produces thousands of large, sky blue flowers with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like pineapple.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
