Magenta
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This giant fruit tree grows up to 46 feet (14.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.
It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in ridged, brown bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.
The large clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with small bunches of giant, circular leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either magenta or brown, with cream streaks.
In early spring, it produces handfuls of medium-sized, peach blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like onion.
In mid-summer it produces small, long, straight fruit. The hairy lilac skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft sky blue flesh is sweet and sticky. The black seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It can survive a long time without water.
