Twining Willowfern

This massive shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 117 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of branched, straight stems covered in hard, silky, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of large, needle-like, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are crimson on the edges and azure at the center, delicate and waxy.

It produces many bunches of small, bronze flowers with needle-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like vanilla. In early autumn it forms smallfaded red aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
