Violetfern

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This huge shrub grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for around 77 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of thick, angular stems covered in very thick, ridged, mahogany-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, asymmetrical, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are peach on the sides and violet at the center, strong and clammy.

In late summer it produces large amounts of tiny, gold flowers with crescent-shaped petals. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like old shoes.
