Gray-green Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In marshes, and In heathlands.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and can overwhelm an area rapidly, and is slightly hardy.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
