Redleaf
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the very light wood is brown.
The sparse amount of branches are long and slender and are covered with handfuls of huge, asymmetrical leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either bold red or purple, with silver splotches.
In early spring, it produces a handful of large, green blossoms with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like leather.
In mid-summer it produces small, long, narrow fruit. The hairy yellow skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is bitter, and the soft peach flesh is sweet and juicy. The bronze seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
