Silverwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 21 meters (68.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 565 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, silver bark, and inside, the very light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of crispy, tiny, fan-like leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are grey with sky blue tips.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of small, vibrant purple blossoms with 9 heart-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like fish.

In late summer it forms small, crimson, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
