Copperleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 167 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several thick, crooked stems covered in thick, cracked, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are very short and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, thin, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to hazel at the top, delicate and waxy.

In early summer it produces many clusters of medium-sized, cyan flowers with pleated petals. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like meat.
