Cyan Fruit Tree

This big fruit tree grows up to 45 feet (13.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 52 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, waxy, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is black.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of large, slender, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are gentle yellow at the bottom and white with vibrant red edges at the top.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, amber blossoms with 2 spiral shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like pot-purri.

In early summer it produces large, spherical fruit. The hairy dark grey skin is delicate and sweet and spicy, and the soft cyan flesh is sour and savoury and sticky. The blood red seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
