Magenta Fruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in thin, knobbly, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The numerous branches are long and slender and are covered with large amounts of large, thin leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are pale purple and magenta.

In early spring, it produces thousands of small, aquamarine blossoms with fan-like petals. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like vomit.

In late summer it produces , wide fruit. The smooth sky blue skin is thin and inedible, and the soft black flesh is overwhelmingly sour and very dry. The cream seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
