Turquoise

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in thick, rough, dark brown bark, and inside, the light wood is white.

The numerous branches are very short and thin and are covered with handfuls of miniature, umbrella-shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either cream, or turquoise with aquamarine edges.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, black blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like sweat.

In early autumn it produces , needle-like fruit. The waxy intense red skin is thin and sweet, and the crunchy turquoise flesh is bitter and oily. The slate seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
