Sunfire

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short bine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 7 feet (2.1 meters)0. It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 8 months for the orange-yellow stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The perforated, crispy leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. They are generally grey, and have ripped edges.

During late spring, the bine produces many bunches of small muted red flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of large seed pods.

Several parts of the tree have medicinal properties.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
