Blood Red Succulent

This small cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 3 very thick stems. Each stem is gray-green, and is dotted with small blood red spines. The cuboid body is red, and is covered in hundreds of fine, blood red, hair-like spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 41 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of turquoise grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is shaped like a star made up of many widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like a man.

The cactus's skin is thin, the olive flesh is soft, and the lilac sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.
