Yellow Spined Cactus

This large cactus grows up to 104 feet (31.7 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is yellow, and is covered in thousands of fine, beige, hair-like spines.

It is quick growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of turquoise grow at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of widely spaced narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like cotton.

The cactus's skin is thick, the purple flesh is smooth, and the violet sap is thin.
