Copperbell

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big flower grows up to 6.4 feet (2.0 meters) tall. Its copper stems grow in bunches of 7 and are wispy with a curved tip, and the tiny, lime green leaves are broad, flat with irregular edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 5 to 9 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 70 cm (27.6 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of turquoise. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet with 45 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a powerful scent that smells like soap, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is slightly resistant to fire damage.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
