Emerald

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 67 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, curved trunk covered in smooth, gray bark, and inside, the light wood is black.

The excessive amount of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with handfuls of tiny, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are emerald with azure tips.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of giant, slate blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like coconut.

In mid-autumn it produces large, pleated fruit. The leathery black skin is thin and inedible, and the soft cream flesh is spicy and salty and dry. The florescent green seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
