Copperleaf Succulent

This small leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The wide stem is copper, and is covered in brittle yellow spines. The rounded-edged, thick leaves are either dark brown or dark grey, with green zig-zags. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are robust, but take little effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 34 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are ashy purple in the center, hazel in the middle and faded yellow at the edges grow at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has the faintest scent that smells like pine needles.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the grey flesh is soft, and the florescent blue sap is thin.
