Gray Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas On rotten logs, and In bogs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is very flimsy; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
