Silverfern

This silver moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In marshes, In heathlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and can overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very robust; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
