Caramel Petal Flower

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its green stem is thin and straight, and the small, hazel or beige leaves are very thin with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Lots of medium-sized flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are caramel at the sides and brown at the center. The flower head is made up of 17 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cup. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like glue, and it has copious amounts of pollen; it can can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
