Silverpine

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 692 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in ridged, silver bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy.

The abundance of branches are very short and slender, with thousands of twigs covered with handfuls of huge, orange needles. The needles themselves are robust.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, pale yellow, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
