Copperleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 24 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has several sturdy, curved stems covered in ridged, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are long and thin with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, asymmetrical, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are subtle purple on the edges and bronze at the center, rigid and smooth.

In early summer it produces thick bunches of large, copper flowers with many layers of petals. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like chocolate.
