Sunset Petal

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 8 and are wispy and straight, and split into dozens of branching stems halfway up, and the large, yellow leaves are broad, flat with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide, with caramel petals that gradient shift to magenta on the outer edge. The central disk is bold blue. The flower head is made up of 56 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. They are very delicate.

It has a delicate scent that smells like blood, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
