This emerald moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In marshes.
It is huge, growing up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely strong.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It comes in 17 varieties, each with a different leaf colour.
It is overwhelmingly resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
