Bronzeberry

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wonky trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is brown.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of small, thick leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid aquamarine or purple, with sky blue lines.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of tiny, bronze blossoms with needle-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have no scent.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, wide fruit. The fuzzy beige skin is thick and spicy and savoury, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is sweet and spicy and very dry. The beige seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
