Caramel
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This short caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The fan-like stem is yellow-green, and is covered in lots of flexible caramel spines. The slanted, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the top. Its orange-yellow branches are short stubs and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.
The very large amounts of tattered-edged, thin leaves are a shade of orange-yellow that gradient shifts to olive at the top. They are resilient, and are very difficult to pull away.
It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid magenta petals decorated with purple dots and a grey central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like pot-purri.
The caudiciform's skin is thin, the peach flesh is smooth, and the amber sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
