Blue Climber

This large vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 430 feet (131.1 meters) and growing as high as 140 feet (42.7 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 23 months for the silver stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 11 inches (28 cm) and are smooth and slick.

The long, tapering, leathery leaves reach up to 1.3 feet (38 cm) in length. They are generally blue, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the vine produces many balls of small aquamarine flowers.
