Caramel Bluebell

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is wispy and straight, and the large, orange leaves are very thin with rounded edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are deep blue on the edges and caramel at the center. The flower head is made up of 23 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like leather, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.


A particular bird species likes to nest in it.
