Cyanberry

This big fruit tree grows up to 43 feet (13.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, twisting trunk covered in hard, knobbly, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is black.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, 8 pointed leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are cyan on the sides and aquamarine at the center.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, sky blue blossoms with wide petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like meat.

In mid-summer it produces small, finger-like fruit. The fuzzy purple skin is thin and inedible, and the soft cyan flesh is sweet and dry. The green seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.
