Magenta Fruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in fine, knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is silver.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, long, narrow leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in bold green and magenta varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, slate blossoms with 7 triangular shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like lavender.

In early summer it produces , wide fruit. The crispy washed-out orange skin is tough and salty, and the very soft cyan flesh is bitter and powdery. The red seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
