Yellow Onion Flower
Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This massive flower grows up to 11.3 feet (3.5 meters) tall. Its yellow stem is wispy and straight, and the huge, emerald leaves are wispy with irregular edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
A single medium-sized flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 25 cm (9.8 inches) wide, with grey petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of many petals in raised layers. They are hardy.
It has a powerful scent that smells like onion, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
