Indigo Succulent

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 33 feet (10.1 meters) tall. The narrow stem is gray-green, and is covered in brittle hazel spines. The smooth-edged, pleated leaves are found in pink, sky blue and black varieties. Thick bunches of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are strong, and do not detach easily.

It is very fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid white petals and a vivid blue central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 12 petals in raised layers. It has an overpowering scent that smells like citrus.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the indigo flesh is waxy, and the gold sap is thin.
