Blueberry Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 56 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in ridged, brown-green bark, and inside, the dense wood is silver.

The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, wispy leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are olive on the sides and deep blue at the center.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, azure blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like pineapple.

In early winter it produces tiny, spherical fruit. The crispy sky blue skin is peel-able and spicy and sour, and the soft olive flesh is sweet and juicy. The caramel seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
