Bluebell

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its pink-red stems grow in bunches of 8 and are thin with a curved tip, and the tiny, green leaves are needle-like with rounded edges. 12 leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Around 90 medium-sized flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 2 cm (0.8 inches) wide, with petals that are bright blue at the sides and amber at the center. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of handfuls of widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a weak scent that smells like marzipan, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
