Violet

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small caudiciform grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The perforated stem is gold and red, and is covered in brittle brown spines. It has a angular, slender, orange trunk atop a slender block of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and cream and olive and are short stubs.

The irregular-edged, very narrow and elongated leaves are solid washed-out purple with violet dots. They are flimsy, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is quick growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are violet on the edges and washed-out purple at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 18 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like onion.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the light grey flesh is smooth, and the orange sap is thin and can kill if consumed.

It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
