Orange-Yellow Giant Lily

This giant flower grows up to 9.9 feet (3.0 meters) tall. Its orange-yellow stems grow in bunches of 6 and are very thick and straight, and the giant, black leaves are dark gray-green and orange-yellow on the underside and are pleated with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

2 to 7 small flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 54 cm (21.3 inches) wide, with lilac petals on the lower layer and beige petals decorated with indigo dots on the inner layer. The central disk is vivid yellow. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of many raised, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like paint, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
