Twinevine

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 24 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, slanted stems covered in delicate, smooth, black bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down across the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of tiny, very narrow and elongated, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either olive or grey, with dull green splotches, resilient and leathery.

In late spring it produces thousands of giant, light grey blossoms with 3 umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have the faintest scent that smells like vanilla.

In late autumn tiny triangular fruits ripen. The crispy magenta skin is stretchy and inedible, and the soft indigo flesh is savoury and very juicy. The slate seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
It is suitable for making paper
